Airforce Pilot Portraits
This series of 4 are digitally enhanced photos. They were created with the Rorschach Pattern in mind. An Airforce Pilot contacted artists all over the world and had us body paint him and create art with himself as the subject to ultimately compile into a coffee table book of portraits.
The original photos he used are actually dark brown, orange and white.
These pieces are 3x3 foot photos on wood panels. The dark areas are actually blacker than they appear in these pictures (you can detect my shadow holding the camera in some of them)

Cut Outs!
These are sculptural pieces made of cut wood and cut masonite. Wood-working was always a passion of mine, and these pieces combine that craft with my painting and fine art work. These are all incredibly time and labor intensive.
"Monkey See, Monkey Do" 3x3 feet This is an interactive piece of art. You can remove and rearrange the dots. Under each dot is one of the animals you see below. The production of this piece cost over $700, and this is by far and away the most difficult project I have ever undertaken. The circles were die cut with a laser guided router, and the dots are held in place with rare earth magnets. I almost quit about 100 times, ask my girlfriend.

Bars and Bands
I Love live music, and I have spent plenty of time working and playing in places like these. It was my intention to create an environment which was not as concerned with the individuals in the paintings, but rather the feel of the scene as a whole. There is also a heavy focus on color and pattern in these pieces. These are mixed media on wood panels with resin.
"Ray's" 10x3.5 feet. (two 5 foot panels)
"Blue Room" 4x2 feet

Trees
I started keeping bonsai trees as another art form. A way to shape and control nature. It amazes me that there are bonsai trees that are hundreds of years old and only inches tall. That is incredible control over something very powerful. These are all mixed media with acrylic paint on wood panels.
